The current quality of the urban environment has declined as compared to the traditional places especially related to specific cultural setting. It is found that urban environmental principles should employ man-made aspects based on the influence of cultural and natural factors that is generally known as man-environment approach to design. The qualitative research methods used in the study include; interviews, surveys and field observation. It was observed that the historical urban environment has deteriorated as compared to its original settings. Therefore, it is suggested that rehabilitation and restoration of the city, with particular focus on the traditional places as evident in this case study, is necessary in order to maintain the cultural significant of the urban setting.
